Advantages Compound
- Easy processing. Compounds are easy to process. For the addition of batches in the production process, the user needs specific processing know-how and the right equipment. If the latter is not fulfilled, the added batch usually cannot be optimally mixed into the compound, i.e. it may not be evenly distributed in the base polymer.
- Optimal for high flame retardancy. The higher the flame retardancy requirement, the higher the flame retardant content must be and the more critical it is to mix in a batch during processing (injection moulding, extrusion). For particularly high flame retardancy requirements, a compound is therefore more advisable.
- Certified base material. In certain cases, not only the finished component but also the compound must be certified (e.g. Yellow Card at UL). In such cases, an HFFR compound is an absolute must and a batch is not expedient.
For our compounds we use a phosphorus-based halogen-free flame retardant system, currently available as a compound in various base polymers such as polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP).
In the case of fire, our absolutely halogen-free compounds prevent the spread of smoke, corrosive and toxic gases.
Our compounds achieve the highest fire requirements such as:
-
UL94: V0
-
EN 45545: Hazard class HL3 in the requirement sets R22, R23 and R24
-
M3 According to French building material regulations
In addition to meeting the fire tests, our materials also have very good mechanical characteristics. High notched impact strength and good processability even with longer flow paths (MFI between 5 and 18 g / 10 min at 230° C 2.16kg).
Typical applications are housings, boxes, containers, baskets, plugs, covers, linings, foils and blown bodies.
Our aim is to provide our customers with quick solutions to their challenges and to meet customer requirements as an efficient and flexible material supplier.
